Africa International Hair Extravaganza Countdown


With just under a week to go, preparation for the first Ever Hair Expo, the Africa International Hair Extravaganza will take place on the 11 & 12 August 2012 at the Coco-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg, South Africa.

This elite event will present a full “HAIR EXPERIENCE” for the industry and consumers as the country celebrates Woman’s Month throughout August.



The Organizers have just completed the selection process for the first ‘Battle of the Stylist’, which will take place alongside the expo. This process has afforded 20 previously disadvantaged stylists from across Africa the opportunity to “BATTLE IT OUT” by showcasing their talent in 3 different categories namely; Weave, Relax Style and Natural Hair Style.

The 20 finalist include stylists from South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Mozambique. “We’re so excited about Africa’s First Hair Battle and encourage consumers to come and see the talent that’s hidden within Africa’s Stylists” Says Businesswoman & Founder of Africa International Hair Extravaganza Ms. Fatima Cele

The show will run over 2 days from the 11th -12th August with doors opening at 10am till 8pm. Visitors attending the expo will be spoiled for choice, as the experience stage production by Jan Malan, whose amazing work has been seen at a number fashion weeks across the continent and has worked on the MNET Face of Africa, to name a few. “ I am so overwhelmed to work on this Production, the show will present a lot of exciting things such as SUMMER/SPRING Hair Trends for 2012, Product Demo’s, Make-overs, and many more- consumers don’t want to miss this one” Says Jan Malan

The show will house captain of the hair industries across the continent. The two days will be packed with activities and information to make sure there is everything consumers need to know about hair and beauty.

AIHE ends off on Sunday with the 1stAfrican Hair Awards, an awards ceremony voted for through a sms competition which consumers including Stylists and Salon owners who are the immediate custodians and ambassadors of the respective hair products and brands voted into. Categories include Best Hair Relaxer, Best Aftercare Product, Most accessible Hair Brand, Salon Choice Product and Fiber just to name a few. Mamelodi Sundowns v Kaizer Chiefs MTN8 Quarterfinal Match sold out 

Tickets for the MTN8 quarterfinal fixture between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs
have been sold out.
This was confirmed by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) just before 4pm today.
Mamelodi Sundowns will host Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium tomorrow, 05 August 2012,
at 15h00.
The PSL Acting CEO, Cambridge Mokanyane has appealed to football fans who have not
purchased a ticket for this match not to go to the stadium.
“The MTN8 quarterfinal clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs is officially
sold out. We are overwhelmed by the response to this game. I therefore appeal to football
fans who do not have a ticket for this encounter not to go near the stadium as security will
be on high alert,” Mokanyane said.
The PSL announced that tickets are still available for another MTN8 quarterfinal fixture
between Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium
tomorrow, 05 August 2012. Kick-off is at 15h00.
Ticket prices will be R40.00 for adults while children under the age of 12 will pay R10.00.
They can be purchased at Computicket outlets and Shoprite Checkers countrywide.
